As Valorie mastered the skills of styling natural and relaxed hair she became recognized for her talents. She began traveling around the world and competing in hair shows. In 1997 Bodi Odi Hair Studio was recognized as one of the Best Hair Salons across the country in an issue of Essence Magazine.
