About

We started with a goal: to promote an inclusive and exceptional salon environment with a team of supportive stylists. We wanted a community that bridged the gender and racial divide we saw in the hair industry. In 2015, we opened Polished Salon & Spa. We grew our team. We strived to promote equity in our community. The core of our goal remained strong but as our community continued to grow, and so did our dreams, we felt that our name didn't encompass who we are anymore. In 2022, we changed our name to Stella James Salon, the combination of two names that are important to our founder, Beverly. Stella James Salon is more than a place to get your hair done.
